Modern music-making is almost inextricably tied in with computers. There aren’t many studios left that don’t run a computer in some capacity or other: sequencers, virtual instruments and effects are all par for the course. Then, of course, there’s the relatively new phenomenon of mobile recording: taking laptops out in the field to write and produce music.
