Korg X50

Korg’s new baby packs all the punch of a heavyweight sound engine in a light and portable package. Will it be a knockout? Hollin Jones gets a handle on the X50...

Price: £525.00
Manufacturer: Korg
Website: http://www.korg.co.uk

When it comes to keyboards, Korg can lay claim to having produced some era-defining pieces of kit, from the MS20 and Polysix through to the M1, the world’s first workstation. In recent years the Korg range has diversified to include recording, effects and guitar equipment, but the company’s roots remain in synth design. Its latest innovation in this field is the X50: in many ways heir to the popular X5 portable keyboard, it retains some of the feel of the older model, but is a far more advanced instrument, packing some powerful new features.
