If you’re looking for a new audio interface, you may find the degree of choice somewhat overwhelming. For a start, there are the different buss types to choose from (USB, FireWire or PCI), then there are sample rates and bit depths to consider, plus latency issues to worry about – not to mention the input/output options and overall sound quality. So, it’s no surprise that manufacturers are bundling hardware kit with audio and MIDI recording/sampling software, and offering consumers a complete audio/MIDI studio solution.
