Native Instruments Xpress Keyboards
NI releases entry-level versions of three of its classics. Hollin Jones goes retro...

It is becoming increasingly common for software manufacturers to release multiple versions of their products for different markets. Most often, these tend to take the form of an entry-level and a pro edition. Native Instruments is getting in on the act with stripped down versions of three of its popular virtual synths, called the Xpress Keyboards. Available separately or as a bundle, Xpress Keyboards comprises smaller versions of the FM7, Pro-53 and B4. You’ll need to be running Windows XP or Mac OSX, as NI seems to have grasped the nettle and dropped support for earlier operating systems.
