The music technology revolution has reached the stage now that any musician can have access to professional quality recording equipment without having to take out a second mortgage. The technology that used to be the sole province of top professional recording studios is now available at an affordable price. This is especially true for hard disk recorders where the needs of the personal computer market for fast, high capacity and cheap hard disk storage has brought the cost of the underlying technology down to consumer levels.
